How Top Tens Works

Top Tens is a memory game about football’s great lists. Pick a category, and the game shows you an empty all-time top ten: highest scorers for a club, most Premier League appearances, most yellow cards, most expensive transfers, and dozens more. Your job is to fill in all ten names from memory, as fast as you can.

Type a name and correct answers lock in instantly, in their proper place on the list. There is no penalty for wrong guesses except time, which is exactly what makes the mode addictive: you will confidently fire in eight answers, then spend twice as long staring at the two gaps, running through entire squads in your head trying to work out who is missing.

The lists are built to reward different kinds of fan. Some are stars-only and fall quickly. The best ones hide a name from a different era, a player whose numbers were quietly enormous, or a defender in a scoring list who took every penalty for a decade. If a list beats you, the reveal is half the fun.
